Horan, Keogan, Ryan
HKR was established as Horan Keogan Ryan in Dublin in 1973 to provide design services to clients in the commercial, retail and residential property sectors. It rebranded after a company restructure in 1992, and now employs 130 staff in Dublin and Britain.
The company set up HKR Interior in 2000 to provide interior design and fit-out services to clients in the retail, catering, health, financial services and public sectors.
It established a London office four years ago, where it employs 30 staff. In 2002, it established a joint venture operation with Scottish architectural firm Keppie. Registered in Ireland, HKR Keppie specialises in the design of healthcare and educational facilities, with an emphasis on public private partnerships.
"HKR Architects has grown substantially in the last year," said Ryan. "Employee numbers have grown in the last 12 months from 75 to 130, and turnover grew by 60 per cent to January 2005, from €8 million to €13 million. The company is on target to achieve estimated growth of over 50 per cent to €20 million by January 2006."
Recent design projects include Gallery Quay, Smithfield Regeneration Project and Liberty Corner in Dublin.
